Bon Jovi This Left Feels Right review

Bon Jovi: This Left Feels Right (2003) Review

In summary:

Bon Jovi were brave in taking their best-known songs and re-structuring them from the ground up, but for the most part, this left feels unnecessary.

This Left Feels Right receives 4/11.

As they near their 20th year, Bon Jovi decide to take stock by releasing this collection of their biggest hits so far.

Plot twist; each song has been re-worked from the ground up!

So while you’re probably familiar with the majority of these tracks (Livin’ On A Prayer, It’s My Life, etc), you haven’t heard them quite like this before.

Obviously, it goes without saying that the new versions of these classic tracks aren’t a patch on the source material, but This Left Feels Right does contain a killer alternate version of Wanted: Dead Or Alive, and re-vamps 80s rocker You Give Love A Bad Name into an acoustic bar-room number which works incredibly well (so much so, that if you hadn’t heard the original, this would be a great song in it’s own right).

Aside from those two, however, the remainder of the album is below-par and aimed at super-fans.

In summary:

Bon Jovi were brave in taking their best-known songs and re-structuring them from the ground up, but for the most part, this left feels unnecessary.
